The Benefits of
Epoxy Flooring
Epoxy flooring is one of the most versatile, durable, and long-lasting flooring systems on the market today. Below, you can see the various benefits this flooring system provides to home and business owners!
Durability
The durability of epoxy flooring is unmatched by most conventional flooring systems. These floors can withstand a wide variety of hard impacts, rough abrasions, and high volumes of foot and vehicle traffic. This enhanced durability allows epoxy flooring to be used virtually anywhere, from homes to businesses to factories and more. Epoxy flooring’s durability also helps home, and business owners save money by avoiding frequent repairs, such as cracking, scratching, dents, and more.
Longevity
The longevity that epoxy flooring offers is an excellent money-saver for many homes and businesses. These floors last almost twice as long as other traditional flooring systems. This can help home, and business owners save money and time avoiding costly premature replacements. On average, conventional flooring systems will last between 10 and 15 years before they need to be replaced. On the other hand, epoxy flooring can last for 25 years or more when properly installed and maintained!
Resistance
Epoxy flooring is highly resistant to a broad range of chemicals and other substances, such as water. This flooring is seamless and nonporous, so there is nowhere for these liquids to seep into the floor. This inherent resistance will keep the floor from quickly becoming stained and prevent water damage like warping. If a spill occurs on an epoxy floor, simply clean it up appropriately without the worry of stains and damage!
Low Maintenance
When it comes to maintaining conventional flooring systems, it can be a time-consuming, labor-intensive process that requires expensive cleaning products. Epoxy flooring differs from these materials in that it’s remarkably low-maintenance. Home and business owners can save countless hours and dollars with this easy-to-clean and straightforward floor! Maintaining an epoxy floor is as simple as sweeping or dust mopping daily, wet mopping weekly, and spot mopping as needed!
High Customization
This versatile concrete coating is hugely customizable. There are countless colors, patterns, and textures to choose from to make your floor personal. Even custom graphics and logos can be installed on the floors to add some depth to your floor, represent your favorite team, or support your business! No matter how you want your floor to look, epoxy flooring has the answer. The only limit to customizing an epoxy floor is your own imagination!
Affordability
Epoxy flooring is much more affordable than many other high-end flooring options, such as hardwood and ceramic tile, that can reach upwards of $20 per square foot or more. Epoxy flooring can even mimic these flooring materials, and at a much lower cost! The price of an epoxy floor can depend on your space’s size, the type of epoxy, and the complexity of the design. On average, you can expect to pay between $3 and $12 per square foot.
Environmentally-friendly
Installing an epoxy floor is a more environmentally-friendly choice compared to other flooring materials. With epoxy, you install it directly over your existing concrete, and it’s mixed and poured to fit. There is no excessive waste from cutting flooring material to fit, like hardwood, tile, and vinyl floors. Its resistance helps protect the environment as well, thanks to not allowing chemicals to seep through the floor to the surrounding environment.

Their ability to meet the high demands of industrial settings helps epoxy flooring excel in this environment. Thanks to the customizable colors and patterns of epoxy, we can color-code your industrial floor to designate safe walking paths, equipment paths, and restricted areas to make your facility safer for you and your employees. These colors don’t fade away like paint either! So, there’s no worry of your pathways and areas becoming obscured.

You have questions. We have answers.Frequently Asked Questions
How is epoxy flooring installed?
The epoxy flooring installation process starts with us cleaning and inspecting your floor for damage. If any damage is present, we’ll need to repair it before we can continue. We repair cracks with an injectable epoxy filler, and we patch chipping areas or large holes. Any minor blemishes will be buffed out during the surface prep. Once repairs are finished, we’ll begin the surface preparation. This involves using a floor grinder equipped with a diamond grinding wheel or shot blasting the concrete surface to ensure proper adhesion of the epoxy to the concrete. Next, we’ll mix the epoxy and pour it over the floor. Multiple layers will be mixed and poured until we reach the desired thickness, where we’ll apply a clear epoxy topcoat to finish the floor. With the topcoat in place, your floor just needs to cure. Epoxy flooring is 90% cured after 24 hours and can be walked on. After 72 hours, your floor will be 100% cured and ready for full use.
What are the types of epoxy flooring?
There are three main styles of epoxy flooring that we install. They are as follows:
- Standard Epoxy Flooring: This epoxy style is our most basic and most affordable style. These floors can be fully customized with a limitless range of colors and patterns. From single-color floors to multi-color, intricately patterned floors, standard epoxy can do it all!
- Metallic Epoxy Flooring: This is one of the most unique flooring systems on the market. Metallic epoxy is made by mixing metallic pigments into the resin during application. These pigments give the floor a shimmering appearance that can afford various pattern techniques, such as swirling patterns, patterns that mimic nature scenes, and patterns that replicate high-end materials.
- Decorative Flake Epoxy Flooring: This is the best epoxy style for home or business owners looking to add some texture and extra slip-resistance to their floors. They’re made by layering acrylic chips over the epoxy primer and finishing it with a thin, clear epoxy topcoat. The decorative flakes come in a myriad of colors, shapes, and sizes ranging from 1/16 to 1 inch.
Are epoxy floors slippery?
Epoxy flooring isn’t any more slippery than a concrete floor when wet. These floors have a median friction factor that provides good traction to the floor, despite their glossy appearance. However, if your space will be exposed to wet conditions frequently, we can include non-skid additives that will add even more slip-resistance to your floor.
